JCACS Issue Launch

30-10-2023

Dear JCACS/RAC´EC Readers,

I’m so thrilled to let you know that our first fully French JCACS issue is about to be launched! It’s been an incredible feat for the team and I heartily thank the authors, Holly Tsun Haggarty (managing editor extraordinaire) and the dedicated guest editors: Nancy Wiscutie-Crépeau, Nicholas Ng-A-Fook, Jo Anni Joncas and Laurie Pageau. Hats off Nancy who led the team with incredible organization and attention to detail!

This special issue examines the scope of the Truth and Reconciliation Commission (TRC) of Canada's Calls to Action in francophone educational contexts. The scholarly contributions present emerging research conducted on several Indigenous traditional territories in Quebec and provide theoretical reflections proposed by educational researchers in the context of Quebec, Alberta and Saskatchewan. The issue examines the possibilities and limitations of the TRC Calls to Action in relation to such provincial francophone contexts. It includes educational issues such as, but not limited to, indigenization, reconciliation, decolonization, identities and curriculum policy, in order to better understand and challenge the particular positions Francophone communities may have in the Canadian project of settler colonialism.

Enjoy!

Pauline Sameshima, JCACS/RAC´EC, Editor-In-Chief
